This is a group for widows and orphans with whom we have been involved for more than 20 years. It is based at St Andrew’s Church, Misindye, Seeta, where they meet monthly. With the help of Global Care, we have built and run a hostel in Mukono, the income from which pays the school fees for the HOPAM children.
HOPAM is a very supportive group of vulnerable women (widows, elderly, single mothers and some with health issues).
Funds and parcels are regularly sent out for distribution amongst the members.
Main activities include:
we support needy children with school fees and requirements and often medical expenses in times of crisis.
We run a health facility catering largely for the many disabled children in the community. Treatment is free of charge.
We seek to promote the Gospel of Christ and show his love in practical ways. We counsel our young people and encourage them.
We aim to help children and young adults with their education to become independent and self-supporting adults.
